An immediate care center offers same-day medical treatment for minor illnesses and injuries that are not life threatening.
An immediate care is usually operated by a private group, which allows it to offer more affordable pricing. Urgent cares are often run by hospitals or healthcare corporations, so they tend to bill at a higher rate. This matters most to patients paying with cash or those with a high-deductible insurance plan. Immediate cares can also deliver primary care services without an appointment. In fact, immediate cares provide everything urgent cares do, including on-site x-ray services.
Med-Stop is simply another term for an urgent care or immediate care, and the services provided are essentially the same. One thing to keep in mind is that Med-Stops are typically operated by hospitals, which means you will likely be billed at a higher rate.
Emergency departments (also called emergency rooms) are designed to handle more serious, emergent problems. Chest pain, for instance, could signal a heart attack, so an emergency department is the better choice. A cough and runny nose, on the other hand, can appropriately be evaluated at an immediate care center. No matter your situation, if you come to our immediate care we will always see you, and we will activate emergency services if you need to be transferred to an emergency department. We can also start treating your symptoms while an ambulance is on the way.

While most of our patients live in Macon-Bibb, we welcome patients living anywhere in Central/Middle Georgia. We are conveniently located on Thomaston Road in the Publix shopping center. Our clinic is easily accessible from the 475 (Exit 5). We are just a drive away from Lizella, Whispering Pines, Byron and Rutland.
The medical industry is one of the few that can provide care without telling you what you will be charged. Even if you have insurance, you deserve to know what your costs will be. We recommend asking the front desk for all prices.
Urgent care centers generally should not replace your primary physician. We are here to give patients a convenient alternative when their primary care physician is unavailable. We recommend following up with your physician after your visit with us.
