FAQ

Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions page. Our goal is to answer the common questions that we are asked so that you are a well educated patient. We also want you to know what sets us apart from other urgent care centers. Have a question you don’t see an answer to? Give us a call today!

An immediate care center provides same day medical care for patients with minor illnesses and injuries that are not life threatening.

An immediate care is typically run by a private group and is able to offer more affordable pricing. Urgent cares are often managed by hospitals or healthcare corporations which means that they will be billing at a higher rate. This will affect most patients that that pay with cash or that have a high deductible insurance plan. Immediate cares can also provide primary care services without having to set up an appointment. Immediate cares provide all the services that urgent cares provide including on-site x-ray services.

Med-stop is another name for an urgent care and immediate care. The services rendered are essentially the same. One thing to be aware of is that Med-Stops are typically run by hospitals which means that you are going to be billed at a higher rate.

Emergency departments (also known as emergency rooms) are meant to treat more emergent problems. For example, chest pain could be a symptom of a heart attack and therefore you would be better off going to an emergency department. If you have a cough and runny nose, it would be appropriate to be evaluated at an immediate care center. Regardless of your situation, if you arrive at our immediate care, we will always see you and activate emergency services if you need to be transferred to an emergency department. We can also begin treating your symptoms while waiting for an ambulance.

The medical industry is one of the only industries that can provide care without knowing what you will be charged. Even if you have insurance, you should know what your costs will be. We recommend that you ask at the front desk for all prices.

Urgent care centers generally should not be used as a replacement for your primary physician. We are designed to provide patients with a convenient alternative when your primary care physician is unavailable. We recommend you follow up with your physician after your appointment with us.
